Welcome to Wild Trumpets.
Wild Trumpets is an artist-led gallery and community-facing project founded in 2022 by Brazilian artist Mariana Mauricio. Located on a corner shaped by activism and cultural heritage (Saint Lukes Mews x All Saints Road, Notting Hill), where the Mangrove Nine once rallied against injustice, and opposite People’s Sound, a cornerstone of Carnival culture, Wild Trumpets carries forward the spirit of openness, solidarity, and exchange.
Our mission is to remove the barriers between artists and audiences. Our exhibitions bring together emerging and established artists. Accompanying each exhibition, our artist-led workshops offer drop-in sessions that prioritise process, exploration, and conversation above predetermined outcomes.
At Wild Trumpets, art is never passive or exclusive, it’s something to take part in. Exhibitions inspire workshops, and ideas generated during these workshops inform future gallery projects. Exhibitions and workshops are united as part of a single collaborative practice, creating a continuous loop of shared experience, experimentation, and active participation.
